You Are Good Enough

Don’t ever believe the lie that you’re not good enough. If you weren’t good enough, Christ would not have created you and then decided to die for you.
This is a lie that the enemy tries to throw at us in times of testing, or when we get our eyes off of God and start looking at what everyone else has. We start comparing our lives to the lives of others. That isn’t what God would have us to do. You and I may not like to accept this fact, but we have to accept our lives, the lives that we’ve been given. We need to be more grateful for what we have. We need to start praising Him more for what we have, instead of complaining to Him about all the things we don’t have.

You are good enough just the way you are, and everything about you is good enough for God. However, I must say if you have sinned then you need to first take care of that between you and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. You need to repent and then get back up and move forward knowing that you’ve been forgiven. You also need to learn that you must forgive yourself for the sins that you’ve committed. Don’t condemn yourself. You will never be able to move on with your life if you live in guilt and condemnation. Christ never condemns, but convicts you in order to bring you back in relationship with Him. The enemy will condemn you to make you prisoner of your sin, so that your unable to get back into the relationship with Jesus Christ.

Furthermore, we must understand that things will happen in our lives, things that we may not have control over. That doesn’t mean it’s absolutely your fault or that God is somehow against you, or that God is saying that your not good enough. He would never say that. As a matter of fact, He would say, “My child I love you. Was not my death enough to show you just how special you are to me?”
Christ Himself went through suffering, so if He went through it, we shouldn’t feel that we won’t have to go through with it as well. So, the next time the enemy says, “You’re not good enough.” You tell him that liar ” I’m good enough for my Christ to die for!”

God bless you friend and as always keep trekking…

Facing Life Changes

Our lives are but a vapor here on this earth. We are only here for a short time, so with the time that we’ve been given we need to live life to the fullest embracing everything that comes our way. We will go through a lot in this life, but the only thing that remains constant is change. Changes occur everywhere all the time. It happens in the physical, environmental, and spiritual realm.

If you look at human development the for example, we start off at the cellular level, then organ and skin development, our limbs forms and and then our soft cartilage changes and our bones start to ossify and we begin to grow. We enjoyed the womb and the provision of the food and safety of the water, but we can’t stay there. If we did we would never grow the way that we’re supposed to and experience life fully. Then we crawl and walk and soon we experience more changes within our body with the help of hormones.

Also, changes impact our environment, and throughout the year seasons change. This has to happen or nothing would grow. Likewise, we as humans go through various trials that test our human spirit. Changes happen in our family and our world around us that we very often have no control over and sometimes if we allow it, these various changes can stress us out and cause depression, isolation, spiritual defeat and sometimes suicide. But, we have to remember that these changes are here for a reason. Without the changes and trials that come our way we can’t grow.

We have to see what God is doing when we’re going through these trials. I know this because when I have faced certain trials that seemed to be too much and too heavy, I wanted to pack it up run without giving any thought about what God was doing in the midst of it all. But, we all have our own story and things can’t stay the same. Somehow, we need to understand this truth and engrave it deep into our spirit. We need to learn to embrace the changes and get a different perspective during these trials. These hardships and trials that you go through may be hard and difficult to face, but you don’t have to go through them alone. Jesus Christ will go through the trials with you if you place your trust in Him.

Furthermore, you and I need to understand that at the end of these trials you and I will be a better person if and only if we have the right perspective and make the decision to not quit. We have to believe this my friends and apply it to our lives. We need to be ready to go through these trials not with uncertainty and fear, but rather with assurance and faith that God is going to bring us through to the other side. So, take a deep breath and trust that God has a special plan for your life. He wants to transform you into His image and make you and I the people He wants us to be. May God bless you and always keep trekking…

Dealing with Rejection

Depression, Loneliness, Man, Mood

Do you ever feel abandoned by God, or feel like God has simply given up on you? If you have ever felt this way, you are not alone. The truth is that many people including myself have and will experience this at some point in their life. This feeling of abandonment or rejection is so strong that it cuts deep into the core of your person. It can create such turmoil inside of you that it can affect every aspect of your life and ultimately if not dealt with it can steal your joy, your time, and your very life.

When a child is rejected physically, or verbally by a mother or father, that child will grow up thinking that no one will ever truly love him or her. When a child hears a father or mother use harsh words like, ” Why can’t you be like your sister or brother!” , ” I wish I never had you!”, and other harsh phrases, your child will hold onto those words and if the words are harsh enough they will stay with them for the rest of their lives. Which will often leave them feeling like they have no real value and will never be good enough for anyone. So, when people justify this kind of talk to their kids and say something like,”They are too little to remember what I just said.” Well, that isn’t really true and kids remember more than many people think. When I was little, my father said some harsh things to me that I still remember and it’s been over twenty-five years.

Even as an adult, you may have dealt with someone refusing to be friends with you, or felt under appreciated by a boss or fellow coworker. Maybe  you have felt rejected by other Christians within your church. The rejection that you feel is absolutely real and should not be taken lightly. When we get rejected by others, depression sets in and then we start believing the lies of the devil, and believe that we are not good enough for anyone including God. It’s during these times that we shut down internally and stop living the fruitful lives that God wants for us. We point our finger at God and cry out to Him with words like, “Why are you doing this to me?”  The temptation to doubt His existence and to completely walk away from Him constantly whispers and nags at our soul. However, we have to remember that yes the rejection that you feel is genuine and you have every right to feel that way, but you have to know that although man has failed you, God has never rejected you or left you alone.

God has always been here for you, and I know that it’s hard to see that when you’re hurting and life doesn’t seem to change or make sense. You have to remember that there is a spiritual war and a fight for your soul. The enemy would love for you to take that rejection that you feel and walk away from God, because then He could fill your life with bitterness and cause you to waste your life living an ungodly lifestyle. If you walk away from God you end up walking to something else, and most of the time that is to a life of sin.

When you and I decide to walk away from God we will still have to give an account for our sin. The accountability that we have to God and how He judges sin, still does not change even though our thoughts about God may have. So, if you have allowed doubt to take over your mind and have contemplated running away from God, or if you have turned your back on God and are living a life that you know is wasted in sin. Please,be like the prodigal son and come to your senses and run back to God.

17 “But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! 18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you, 19 and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.”’ 20 “And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. 21 And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ (Luke 15:17-21)

God loves you so much and He is the only one who truly knows of your suffering. He is familiar with our suffering, after all He sent His only begotten Son to suffer a terrible beating, to be rejected by all, and to die on a cross for the sin of the world. As a matter of fact, Isaiah calls Jesus, ” the Man of Sorrows.”

He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows;Yet we esteemed Him stricken,Smitten by God, and afflicted. (Isaiah 53:3-4)

His death although it was for the world ( John 3:16), you need to make it personal. He died for You and He knows what suffering is. If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord of your life, then you belong to Him. This world will fail you, people will let you down time and time again. This world is cruel and unfair, it may completely reject you and never give you that opportunity that you’re looking for,or that fancy title that you’re after, but You don’t belong to this world. You belong to God, so if you look to find favor from man or the world, you will continue to find yourself feeling rejection. Listen my friend, if the God of the universe and the Creator of all things sent his Son to die for You, then You are definitely valuable and so very special to God. You have worth to God and you can know that because of what He did for you on the cross you will never be alone (Hebrews 13:5-6). May you run back to God, and remember that He gave His very life for you. God bless you friend.

Out of Darkness into Light

‪ A life without Christ is like being in total darkness. You attempt to reach out and hold onto things to help you find your way. You try to get your eyes used to the darkness to help lead you, but your vision isn’t made to see in darkness. Your eyes will never be able to perceive the darkness. Yet, there’s apart of you that realizes that only if you found a light, then and only then you would be able to see clearly.

You see my friend you’ve been stumbling around in darkness for too long. You have been trying to get your eyes so used to the darkness, but your eyes will never get used to the darkness that you been living in. Your eyes weren’t made for the darkness, but rather for light. You’ve been holding onto things that aren’t truly satisfying, and inside of your heart you’ve been believing that you can continue to walk in this darkness on your own, but you will ultimately fall or die living this way. I know that there has been moments when you were standing there in that darkness and you felt that your life would be so much better if you could just see more clearly.

Friend, if you want to see life clearly then choose to accept Jesus Christ today. He will be “The Light” that will help get you out of the darkness that you’re in. You see, no matter where you’re at, and no matter how much darkness you’re in, He is here for you at this very moment. As a matter in fact, this light has been burning for you for a long time. Just call out to His name wherever you’re at and say, “Jesus, save me from this life of darkness, this life of sin that I’m living in. Forgive me, for my sins that I’ve committed. I believe that you died for me to save me. I ask that you will come into my life and be my Lord and my Savior. Help me to live my life for you.” Amen. ‬

If you prayed that prayer, then you now have the light in you to get you out of darkness. ‬Now be free and experience a new life in Christ. God bless you friend.

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” (John 8:12)

Breaking this Cycle of Stress

Image result for can't change people

There is so much happening in our world, that the very stress of it all can literally impact our lives in a very negative way. Throughout the world and especially here in the United States, there has been a significant increase in violence, anger, hopelessness, and discouragement in the hearts of the people these days. Many people have become angered with those who just are not willing to change their attitudes, lifestyles or beliefs. Others are feeling the tension and stress of what’s been going on within the political establishment, our environment, Isis, and a whole variety of issues. The fact is, there is an overwhelming amount of stress that’s eating away at our society like a cancer and it needs to be addressed. We need to try to get a different perspective of what’s going on around us in order to move forward with our lives. If we don’t settle this, we as a people are going to self destruct and pass down the stress that we carry to our children and possibly to their children. It will inevitably be a constant cycle from one generation to the next. So, I’m going to talk about several issues that I believe create much unwanted stress in our lives as a society, as well as ongoing issues that I believe are affecting the church (followers of Jesus Christ), and give some solutions that will hopefully break the cycle of stress over your life.

So, first we have to learn that we don’t have the power to change anyone. Many including myself need to be constantly reminded of this. We have to remember, only God can change a persons heart. As much as you want that person to believe in what you believe in, behave a certain way, or possess a particular look or have the same skill sets as you have. The fact is, not everyone will be the person that you would like for them to be. This includes your spouse, your children, your friends, and your coworkers. We can’t go around thinking that everyone has to be an exact replication of ourselves. To move forward as a society and as the church, we need to understand that we have to drop our expectations of people, and learn to accept people for who they are. Although not everyone accepts Him, Christ accepted all of us and died for all of us. We are to love everyone regardless of who they are. We need to accept people and learn to forgive people who offend us. We can’t change people, but we do have the power through God to change ourselves and our attitudes.

Secondly, we have to understand that we don’t have the power to control the things that are happening in our country or around the world. Things such as: politics, social injustices, world hunger, homelessness, threats to our national security, perpetual violence, abortion, same sex marriage, etc. These issues have been ongoing and may continue to exist, but we don’t need to allow them to internally break us. Now don’t get me wrong, we can be proactive to such matters and voice our opinions, vote, and protest in a civil way, and volunteer our time for such causes, but we need to understand that God is in control of our country and the world. Many people carry all of the problems that’s going on in the world on themselves, and that’s too much weight for any person to carry. We have to give all of these issues to God and stop carrying it all. If we do as much as we can to impact our world and give the rest to God we will be less stressed and anxious as a people.

Thirdly, this is for the churches in the the United States and around the world. We as the church need to reconcile our issues and stop fighting over doctrinal issues that continue to separate and divide the church. The church as a whole, needs to come together and realize that we are not a social club, or a movement, but we have been purchased by the blood of Jesus Christ. Who are we to act like we know it all, or that one church has the full understanding of God? We should be ashamed. We are to be a light to the lost and not a distraction. When we as a church behave in such manner, the world gets lost in our deep interests in extravagant churches, deep theological teachings, and disputes of which church has exactly the correct interpretation of scripture. We need to remember, the church was created to bring hope to this world by telling them about our Savior Jesus Christ. We need to stop holding onto our religion and hold onto Jesus. The church needs to unify and reach out to this hurting world again with the love of Jesus.

In conclusion, we simply need to let the complexities of life go and live one day at a time. May we decide to finally settle out those constant worries that are happening all around us. Let’s  work on ourselves and try to be the best that we can be. Let’s be gracious to others and love them without expecting them to change who they are. We must allow God to do the changing and not us. As followers of Christ, we are called to love beyond the four walls of a building and reach our world. So, let’s change our society and learn to love again. Then maybe, just maybe our society will become a bit more peaceful. God bless you friend and remember-

Self Has No Place

This is not going to be a long post, but my heart has been troubled about this particular issue that has been increasing in our culture and it’s affecting everyone. You see, I have noticed over the years that many people from all walks of life have been trekking through life trusting in their own efforts and their own abilities. Thinking that life is all about what they can gain and how they can prosper. They live life to gratify their own inward passions and dark desires. They want the latest and the greatest and are willing to attain it at any cost. Our society is becoming so much about, “Self” and “I” that it’s being infiltrated so much with Selfies, IPhones, IPads, and IPods.

It seems like everywhere you go now it’s all about “I, I, I.” What happened to a society that looked past “I” and focused on us? Believing that life is simply all about you is a lie and if you walk in that belief, you will get burned. You will eventually end up feeling empty, alone and miserable. You will regret your life after you’ve lived it up. As a society, we need to change this mindset. Let’s learn to live again. Let’s learn what it means to get our minds off of ourselves and to think about others. Let’s purpose in our hearts to sacrifice our passions and desires to help someone achieve their desires. We need to be people who are relational and committed to helping others. If we did this together as a society, it would be powerful and ultimately start a revolution. This mindset needs to be broken from the church house to the White House, from your house to my house. God bless you my friend.

There’s Purpose in our Suffering

As we trek through this life we experience times of happiness and bliss and life feels amazing. So much so, that we can’t imagine ourselves being separated from those moments and if we could, we would certainly want to stay in that moment or moments forever. However, we must understand that those times as great as they are wouldn’t be that blissful if we never experienced times of suffering.

Suffering humbles us and gives us the ability to realize that we are mortal and that life can’t be taken for granted. It allows us to relate to others and to have compassion towards others who also may be hurting. Also, in a spiritual sense we have to understand there would be no resurrection without suffering. Christ went through suffering, so we must go through suffering as well. There is a cross that we all have to carry. Christ’s suffering was not in vain, there was a purpose. In Christ’s suffering there was victory over sin and death. Likewise friend, your current or future suffering will not be in vain. There is a purpose in the sufferings that we go through. If Christ suffered, why should we think that we should not? People will say, “Yes, but He was God.” Oh, how you’ve forgotten. Jesus was God, but when Jesus was beaten and crucified, He was just as much of a man as we are.

For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit (1 Peter 3:18)

Also, And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” (Matthew 27:46)

We must never think that our lives should go perfect all the time without suffering. Again, without suffering you can’t even begin to relate to someone or have compassion towards someone who also may be hurting. This ideology of a life full of prosperity without pain is a fantasy. We don’t deserve to have everything we want in this life. As Americans and Christians, we think we have rights or entitlements to have everything without having to suffer. We must get away from this mindset and remember everything we have including our very breath is given to us by God. We need to remember that suffering is very much apart of what we have to go through in life. So, although it is difficult we have to embrace our time of suffering and allow God to use it to make us more like Him. May God help us to endure suffering and give us the strength to resist the temptation to give up when we go through trials. God bless you my friend and like always keep trekking.

No matter how challenging things get in life always know that you are never alone. There is One who knows everything about you, your hopes, your dreams, your insecurities, your struggles, and your pain. Jesus is there for you. You ask, “Where is He?” He is everywhere you are. You can’t see Him, but He sees you and He’s waiting for you. If you place your trust in Him, He will be with you always. Many place Jesus Christ in the same category as Santa Clause, Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny etc., but friend He is real. I’m not going to give you a theological discussion on the validity of Christ. However, if you give Him a chance in your life. You will see just how real He is. You will validate for yourself just how real He is once you invite Him to come into your life. Friend, If you want to accept Him just right where your at pray something like this:

“Lord, I need you, so please come into my life and forgive me of all my sin. I know that I’ve messed up, but I know that you died on the cross for me. I no longer want to live for myself. May you be Lord of my life and save me.”
In Jesus name Amen…

You are never alone He is always there for you. If you just received Him into your life, you just made the first step into a newness of life now in Him. Give Him the chance to lead you. Healing Soul

There are many today who are hurting on the inside. People ask you, “How are you doing?” You say, “I’m doing fine”, but the reality is you are hiding so much pain on the inside. You cover up the pain wherever you go with a forced smile. You don’t want people to know what’s really going on. Maybe your marriage is falling apart, maybe your struggling bad with your finances, maybe your struggling with feelings of failure or struggling with being the best father, or mother or maybe you want to be, maybe you feel like you’re not good enough for God or for anyone. Perhaps you feel such pain that you want to give up on life all together.

Friend, I understand the pain and the darkness that you feel, and more than that Christ understands. You are not alone nor will you ever be alone. You are going through a struggle and I know it feels like you want to give up, but this struggle is only temporary. At some point it will pass and the sun will break. You are somebody never forget that. You are somebody to God, your family, and your friends. The pain that you feel will go away, but if you quit that will last forever. You are valuable and precious. Maybe you have failed others and perhaps yourself, but you aren’t perfect. You will make mistakes and people will fail you as well. Also, understand this you can’t trek through life on your alone. You need to come to the place of accepting your weaknesses, and your flaws. You need to love yourself for who you are. Be real with yourself and with God and let that pain out. Cry out to Jesus and He will heal your broken heart. Don’t let another day go by carrying this weight. Christ wants to take away the darkness that you feel and replace it with the light of His amazing love.

Friend, you are deeply loved by God and He will never turn you away. Come to Him in your brokenness and He will give you rest for your weary soul. May God bless you abundantly.

Goodbye To Self

Are you trekking through this life making a point to make a difference in someone else’s life? Do you take inventory of your own life and wonder how you can be a blessing to others? Does the thought of those who are less fortunate than yourself pain your heart? Is there a deep desire to want to help them in someway? It’s imperative to think on this and be honest with yourself.

Perhaps you don’t think about any of these questions often, and maybe you find yourself too busy taking care of your own life. You live in a nice home that’s in a nice neighborhood. You drive a nice car or cars. You have a nice family that eats well and wears nice clothes. You have a good life, but friend life is so much more than that. There is never a problem with that stuff that you have unless it’s robbing you to give to others.

Our life is not just about living it up for ourselves, but rather to also give to those who have less. When I say, “give” many would obviously assume that I’m talking about money, but I’m talking about giving your time, energy and resources to those in need. Let’s be honest and real with ourselves. Our time expectancy on this earth is not promised to us only God knows. We could be gone at any moment at any time. So, if you were to go today, how do you want to be remembered. Do you want to be remembered as the man or woman that obtained various degrees, obtained much wealth, and that had a lot of “stuff”? Or do you want to leave a legacy behind? A life that always gave and impacted lives around you?” You decided to give more time to your children. You made it a priority to help your neighbor, to help distribute clothing or food to those whose in need. You gave time to a stranger that just wanted to know that someone cared. Friend, today is a good day to consider what your priorities are. God bless you my friend.
